The Basalt High School Booster Club, founded in 1976, actively fundraises throughout the school year to provide new uniforms and warm-ups as needed (typically every two to three years) for every single athletic team at Basalt High School—from boys’ baseball, to the spirit team, to volleyball, wrestling and X-C.
The BHS Boosters also make key non-uniform purchases, including the Longhorns chairs and carpets used for indoor sports and gym assembly programs; decorative flags and banners for the outdoor fields; and hosting the annual El Jebowl after-prom party for students. We also helped to fund the LED marquee sign in front of the school, as well as a Longhorns tent used at many athletic events.
The BHS Boosters have raised more than $50,000 in the last three years to support athletic and community endeavors in the school. Funds come from profits made at concessions and merchandise sales at sporting events, plus advertising in the Boosters program, solicited donations from local businesses and non-profit granting entities, and a silent auction held at the annual Roaring Fork Charity Classic golf tournament. We also sell personalized bricks at the atheltic fields' "Wall of Fame."
That all said, the Boosters continue to need the help of all parents at Basalt High School! We’re continually welcoming new members to our group, and we encourage any and all ideas for raising funds for the BHS athletic department.
The BHS Booster Club bought the varsity girls' softball uniforms last year,
as well as the spring track team's uniforms and warm-ups, totaling more than $10,000.
BHS Boosters sell merchandise and concessions at all home football games, as well as athletic events
throughout the season. Want to join in the fun? Come to our next Boosters meeting and sign up to help!
