Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP)

ICAP is a multi-year process that guides students as they explore career, academic and postsecondary opportunities. With the support of adults (advisors, counselors, teachers) students develop the awareness, knowledge, attitudes and skills to create their own meaningful pathways to be career and college ready.

Most of the activities that fulfill a student’s ICAP are completed on Naviance (an online college and career planning tool) and processed during Advisory with the student’s advisor and peers.

ICAP activities include: -Interest inventories -Strengths explorer -Personality indicators -4-year plan -Written college and career goals -Resume writing -An outline of student plans for project-based learning (Capstone) -Financial Aid workshops and surveys -A record of completed college applications -An outline of student progress toward securing scholarships, work study, student loans and grants
