Our first season of Basalt High School Tennis was a very good learning experience for all of you. I am very excited that this year we will be competeing on the Varsity level with seasoned players as we welcome new players onto the team.
We are still able to offer a no-cut tennis program to the BHS sports family. This means that everyone who wants to, can learn and play tennis. Since we do not cut, this means you will learn and practice tennis as a team and play in the position that you try out for.
This year our first week (weather permitting) you will be playing for your spot on the team. We have #1, #2, #3 singles open as well as #1, #2, #3, and #4 doubles. If we have enough girls we will also have a JV team with competition. Because we are Varsity this year you will need to play in your position for six games in order to compete at regionals.
I am looking forward to a fun filled and competitive season all with the understanding that we practice, play and compete as a team.
I believe that anyone can learn and play tennis. I am a USPTA/PTR Teaching Pro, a USTA Member and Youth Coach and I am certified with the Tennis Smith way of teaching.
